Flooring a loft with joists that are 600mm apart?

Question:I bought from B & Q a dozen packs of what I thought would be perfectly adequate loft panels. However, the ones I bought are for 400mm joists. Theys specifically say that thye maximum centre span is 450mm so I can't use these.

However I'm really struggling to find loft panels that are designed for 600mm joists spaces.

Does anyone know where I can find these specific boards ??

Answers:
I'm in the US, and we don't use MM as a unit of measurement, but certainly, now that you already own the first type of flooring, I guess I'd ask, "CAN you return it?"

Not knowing at all what the Loft is designed to be,,,IE: Storage or living space, certainly you could and should add a substantial SUB floor over the joists anyway. You state "Panels" suited for separations of 600 MM. Does that mean then that the panels are the sub floor? Any subflooring used should always CENTER on every joist.

Are the joists open from below? Have you access to them? You could double up the Joist thickness, if you have adequate support for the ceiling, or add perpendicular joist braces for the sub floor.

It is difficult to believe that you can't find panels for 600mm joists but DYI's answer about perpendicular joists (on 16" centers) is probably the best advice you are going to get if you can't find boards for 24" centers.
I would suggest you run them across the ceiling joists, and run a 50mm x 50mm baton between the joists where the edges will be.
