Welding Instruction Video?
Question:Hello, I need to install a spring seat on my bike and wanted to know where can I get an instructional video that would enable me to weld it to the bike's frame? Do you know any other methods that are better? Basically I want to weld 3 bolts to the metal frame and then bolt the seat on them. Thank you all for your help!

Lincoln Electric has an extensive knowledge center with well-written articles (free), a Q&A area, and an online store where you can purchase books, DVDs and other material.

Miller Welding Co has similar information:

Unless you are interested in learning welding as a hobby or for future mods your best bet right now is to just go have the seat done by a pro. The average shop will just charge a few bucks and you will have the peace of mind know that the seat is on secure while riding. As for learning I have a book I got some years ago from H.D. called "Welders Handbook" by Richard Finch it was in the welding area of the store and I have seen it there recently. It gives good basic advice and that is really what you need to start out the rest is practice and experience. Each metal is different and there are many factors that effect each weld. I have found that doing small things around the house and minor repair on our equip has been the best teacher. As mentioned the Lincoln site is a good resource as well.
Search "how to weld" online
By the time you read all the material and practice enough to be able to do the job, you could have had it done for a few bucks and felt secure that it is safe. It will probably need to be MIG or TIG welded since bike frames are pretty thin material.
