I'm considering putting up tile board in my bathroom instead of re-tiling. How reliable is tile boarding?

I did this last year. My bathroom had 50 year old ugly rose colored tile. I was told by several contractors I would have to replace the plaster and put up new drywall. One day I decided to see if the tiles would come off. They did.but the glue stayed on. I got an electric sander and sanded the glue off. Took a long time and I'll probably die from the dust. I bought the tile board. Looks brand new!!

The most important advice I can give you is make sure you seal the bottom where you put the tile board...if it gets wet the glue or what ever is on the back will start to show through. The part that is at my shower turned purple at the bottom. STRANGE. Otherwise it still looks great.

Be careful they are easy to scratch. Tile Board looks great short term but don't expect it to last like real tile.

Tileboard is fine in a bathroom, but NOT in a bath tub/shower.
