I have a few scraces on my Laminate counter tops what can I do?

Question:Over the weekend i and some people over and one of the guests cut up some limes on my counter top. They are brand new, and are the black speckle type, (laminate)what can i do to repair this or even fix it? Can i do something to prevent it from spreding or getting dirt or stuff stuck into the cracks?

Answers:
I found the following information for you at the Do It Yourself Network . They say, you can repair small chips on the work surface of the countertop with laminate-repair paste. It's available in a variety of colors, or you can mix it to match the color of your countertop.
There is a whole article on their website, as well as pictures and complete instructions:

Or .. if the scratches are minor you can always apply VERY CAREFULLY a minute amount of clear nail polish on top. This will seal the scratch from dirt or food from getting embedded into the scratch.

Most scratches on laminate cannot be removed although they can be covered up to look much better.

Deep scratches or chips can be filled with a seam fill material and mixed to match your countertop.

For minor scratches, Countertop Magic will help mask scratches as well as protect your countertops from future scratches. Simply spray directly on the countertop and wipe down.
