CAN I adapt a tap in m bathroom for hookup to a washing machine?

Question:I have been given a washer which has hot and cold water intake valves. however, the basement i live in does not have laundry taps. i know what kind of hoses to buy, Im just not sure if regular taps are safe. if they can auto-shut off, etc.
Can i buy an adapter for my shower outlet, if i remove the shower head? my concerns are water pressure saftey. would a regular tap have correct wather pressure? Im in canada, if that matters.

Im not worried about draining.
THANKS

Answers:
Probably not, the spigots for washers are like the ones you have for your outside faucet, and they are on 3/4" pipe for a greater water flow, the ones in the bathroom are probably 1/2" and wouldn't supply enough water, not to mention you won't be able to attach the hose. Call a plumber to run some plumbing to it, good luck.

If all else fails, take the washer outdoors and hook it to your
garden hose and wash away, let the water drain thru the back in a fancy flower bed..Good Luck!
