Building a deck off my house i want to be able to remove part of the deck cause its over a stairway can i use?

Yep frame in the area you want the "trap door". Use square hinges and recess them slightly, so you won't trip on them. When the door is down the weight will hold it closed.
you may want to add a cable and a pulley with a counter weight on the end so it wont be so hard to open from underneath.I used this idea when I wanted my shed doors to close automatically.
