What should I do after removing stain from a deck? Is it ready for stain?

Question:I stripped my deck today and powerwashed it with Stripex-L. I am going to let it dry for 24 hours and then sand it down (it is soft/fuzzy from powerwashing) should I use a wood cleaner or something like that before staining it?

Answers:
it really depends on where you are in the country. in the s.w. you want to act asap with your weather treatment. in the northern states you want to make sure the wood isn't completely dry but not soaked. when you stain i recommend Olympic or cwr ( clear wood finish) that is what worked for me when i was a subcontractor in Ohio. Ohio like alot of the Midwest gets a good mix of all the weather in the country but not all of the extremes. being a diysr ask the home depot or Lowe's or the like and somebody will hook you up. hope this helped.

Smart to think about sanding down the damage. You are ready to stain.
You might want to light wash with T.S.P. before sanding. Do you have any mold issues because of shade or facing north? Hmm. Address that if you do. Then go for it.
