What's the best way to move my 52' HD projection TV?

Question:I'm moving to a house, and I obviously don't have the box the TV came in anymore. It's on wheels, but it's still difficult to move when it's on carpet (hopefully it'll be better on solid ground). Since it's a projection screen, it's big. What's the best way to move this bad boy?

Answers:
well im in the moving business, you roll that baby as far as you can, and pick it up and carry it. If you dont wanna do that then get a four wheel dolly and roll er right along, then if you dont wanna do that, get a piano dolley, but the best way, is just grab that boy and carry it out

very carefully. or hire a mover, that way it gets broke its there problem, not yours
Piano Dolly!

A piano dolly has larger casters on it than most big tv's, making it easier to move. Use ramps to go up and down outside stairs whenever possible (like with a truck rental, truck ramp from back of truck to entry steps). You can use furniture straps to help pick it up and move it.

Good Luck
Hire a few football players to move the big screen.
I operate a moving company and the most important thing to remember in moving your television is to protect the screen and not allow any pressure to be put against it. Roll the television as far as possible and then use a four wheel dolly with larger wheels to assist in getting over door thresholds. The casters on the bottom of the television are not intended for very long rolls or rolls on rough surfaces, but a four wheel moving dolly is. Just center the dolly under the television and use two people - one to steer and one to push gently. Using two people will insure the television does not get off balance and fall. If you have stairs, you can use two long nylon straps - place them on the floor and roll the television onto them. With one person on each side of the television, wrap each strap once around each hand and push your hand firmly against the television and simply push upward - the television will lift easily. We use this method to move large pieces with minimal effort. Uhaul supply stores sell an item which we use daily called forearm forklifts - the nylon straps that will save your back from a lot of strain. You can use these to move anything with minimal strain and effort. Good luck.
