How do I bend aluminum tubing. Thanks.?
Question:The water lance I have is shaped like a shepherd's crook, I need to straighten it up a few degrees.
Answers:
The best method is to use a tool called a bender used by electricians to form bends and curves in conduit. If you know an electrician you may be able to borrow or rent one from your handy tool rental co nearby. Makes life a lot simpler and avoids . oops ...
I'm not sure of what a "water lance" is, but at any hardware store you can find a tubing bender in the plumbing section. A tubing bender will not typically work for tubing larger then 5/8" OD. If it is large then that, call an electrician and have them bend it for you. They have the tools to do it, and I would venture to guess most would not even charge you if you took it to their office.
put it in a vice and bend manually with a pair of dikes or clamps
looks like you need a 1/2 inch conduit bender
The proper name of the tool is EMT (electrical metal tubing) BENDER. Spring benders are available and I have used them on copper, but EMT is harder than copper. They might work on aluminum.
