What's causing air bubbles in my plaster skim?

this seems to happen alot i think it's because it is very thick coming out of the jug a good way to cure this is to mix the top layer before you start and when you have used it all mix the next layer it helps it really smoothes the mix

This can happen also if your going over old paint. IT helps if you sand the paint a little first.
