Plastic pvc?

Question:can pvc be painted & what type of paint do i use & what type of glue do i use to glue two peices together? thank you.

Answers:
Krylon makes a spray paint just for plastic.

There is a special pvc glue/cement in the plumbing department that works very well.

The best way to glue pvc together is with the use of the pvc cement sold at hardware stores for connecting pvc pipe together. This cement is a mixture of organic solvents, ether, and pvc resin. It does a good job.

You can paint pvc. Paint adhesion is problematic and irregular for a number of reasons, including migration of lubricants, impact modifiers, etc from the pvc to the surface. Both the solvent and the water borne paints have the same problem. Exterior exposure is even more difficult to achieve.

If you can avoid painting, I suggest you do so as it will become a maintenance issue.
I not sure whether you can paint, but to glue it use a pvc cleaner then glue. They can be bought at any hardware or hd or Lowe's Very easy to apply, but can be messy and has a strong odor. Use good ventilation...
There is a new spray paint out there called Fusion by Krylon made specially for plastic. It works great and generally there is no need to prime. Use primer before painting if necessary. I would use an oil base as it will bond better than latex. Use PVC cement to glue the pieces together. It is also a good idea to line up the pvc in position and mark before gluing, miss lining will create a problem as you will never get the pieces apart again. The glue bonds in seconds.

Poly(vinyl chloride) is the plastic known at the hardware store as PVC. This is the PVC from which pipes are made, and PVC pipe is everywhere. The plumbing in your house is probably PVC pipe, unless it's an older house. PVC pipe is what rural high schools with small budgets use to make goal posts for their football fields. But there's more to PVC than just pipe. The "vinyl" siding used on houses is made of poly(vinyl chloride). Inside the house, PVC is used to make linoleum for the floor. In the seventies, PVC was often used to make vinyl car tops.
PVC is not plastic. Use fine steel wool to dull the finish first then use regular Krylon. I would recommend using PVC glue and glue it together first, then paint if possible.
