Music room in my house?

Question:I am can play tons of musical instruments and want to display my wide varity of musical instruments in my house. I have seen music rooms before some with 30 instruments on the wall with a recording studio built in! I want this and i can't find anyplace on the internet that shows me what to do or gives me tips. Any suggestions?

Answers:
displaying instruments is simple, you need to install backing between the studs. cut 2X12's to fit and screw them in, or you could install plywood over the wall and cover it with 1/4in drywall...

sound proofing is a little more tricky. I would use 2x6 studs staggered on 2x12 plates, nailed so that the first stud is flush with the front of the 2x12 and the next is flush with the back and so on. then when the wall is set and nailed in weave insulation between the studs. you can put on a double layer of sheet rock on both sides with mud on all joints. or for the most effective construct a standard 2x4 wall, double rock the back with 5/8in Sheetrock, insulate, and construct a second wall about 6in away with insulation and double rock. don't rock the inside though. the dead air is the best sound deadener...
