I have a wooden object - states Draper Patented #14835 Tru Flight (711) marked on it. Anyone know what this is


Question:It is about 16 inches in length with two brass rings on top and two silver/pewter coloured tips at either end.
I would assume something for aviation/navigation but not sure.
