How to fix my window?

Question:OKay we got a fixer-upper and the front bathrooms window is missing leaving a 2'x1' opening that we wanna fill in and tile the shower over it instead of putting glass in, what do I need to do this right?

Answers:
First of all, are there any other windows in the bathroom? If not, it would be a bad idea to wall over the opening instead putting in a new window. The reason is ventilation. You need a way to ventilate moisture that builds up during use of bath/shower...either by use of an openable window or a vent fan installed in the ceiling. Go ahead and wall up the window opening but then you'd need to install a vent fan...which would require electricity and a roof/wall vent.
