Sounds like your drive belt(s) broke. You can replace the belts yourself (they'll cost about $25.00) ~
two thing yu can do chk the drain pipe is there any clog in a pipe or there a valve under yur washer that open drain might valve is bad change valve will work good luck
Sounds like it is agitating you!!
Three well meaning guys, but none have a nice blue hat, so
go directly to http://appliancequickfix.com/ and see how easy it is to find out how to find out
Check your lid switch by holding a screwdriver in it to see if that makes it work. I have seen this happen a few times.
boat guy is probably the winner. However check the drain pipe anyway. Just an easy thing to do. If drain is OK then the lid switch will certainly keep it from spinning and in some cases and models from doing about anything. the lid switch can be bypassed. without filling the machine, move the control to spin, close the lid if it doesn't spin then open the lid insert something into the hole where th lid peg goes in and see if it spins, some models do not have this hole then you must access the switch plug and plug in a jumper after disconnecting the switch. If you don't understand what I am talking about you would be wise to call a tech and let them handle it. You will have to access this plug and its under the control panel. If the washer did spin then you may have a bad coupling (located between the motor and the transmission) If you look under the washer and find crumbled rubber pieces then the coupling is probably bad. This repair is pretty simple but may be best left to the tech if you haven't any mechanical skills.. If you can access the pump you may find it has failed, Since the machine will not agitate or pump, I tend to think the motor is not running, Too expensive to fix if the washer is very old, go buy a new one.
