$75, complete kit to re-finish 1 bath tub, easy to apply and works great. Good results everytime I've used it.
get a gallon of '''TSP''' you need to clean and scour tub first then home depot sells a resurfacing epoxy spray enamel to make it look like new...i did mine but i have well water and have to use lime away once a week and it started to chip and peel off but if you prep really really good first it should hold and look like new
um.the epoxy works well on tile surfaces that dont get the noraml abuse a tub does. you might try the epoxy stuff previously suggested, but in my op that's a temp fix...i always replce tubs when they have seen their day. if you do use that stuff follow all directions closely and it may work out for you.
There are tub refinishing kits for DIY, but be advised you need to follow the directions very carefully. Cleaning the tub is the most important step so do not be tempted to skimp on this step or you might as well not go any further. You will also find that you need to be more careful cleaning the tub after you refinish it. I would also advise you to remove the drain flange before resurfacing because this is the first place it will fail. The original finish was baked on and since you cannot do this, you will not have an "original" hard finish.
