How to paint a truck fender...?

Question:i got a 2000 dodge dakota sport and the clear coats on the fenders are starting to peel. right now the fenders are a grey-ish color. i want to paint them black along with the door handles and the side mirrors. all of the surfaces are plastic. the handles and the mirrors are slightly textured but im not worried about keeping it textured or not. i just want to get rid of the ugly worn out plastic look and paint them. so my question is what type of paint should i use. ive seen the krylon fusion paints for plastics, but i dont want a really glossy finish, i kinda want a matte black finish. i was planning on sanding off the rest of the clear coat that is still on the fenders and then just taping off what i dont want black and then spraying some paint. is this the right course of action or am i missing something?

Answers:
Make sure you tape off what you don't want to paint BEFORE you start sanding as it will protect the finish from getting scratched, just use a 400 grit paper and feather and smooth out the painted surface and seeing you are looking for a flat finish just use spray cans with light coats allowing the 1st coat to tack up before adding the next coat, you can check for the tack by touching the paint that is sprayed on the tape and when you touch the wet paint it should be like touching tape, then apply another coat and repeat the tack process and you will do just fine

have it done by a professional
