Answers:
Old mattresses, dude
lots and lots of old mattresses !

don't have any friends
Carpet remnants or cardboard boxes (flattened out and nailed to the wall)
stray cats stapled to the walls. There are a lot of them in my neighborhood
go to Target or some other store and buy those foam bed covers that look like giant egg crates - staple that to the walls and it will totally help. It's not too far off what real studios use.
I've heard that the "egg carton" style mattress padding is a good sound buffer. You'd want to look for the most thickest/dense type you can find I'd imagine.
large 36 count egg crates the card board kind like a flat of eggs 10 deep on all walls or carpet layers , at least 5 deep. they both work card board will work too just add up to 10 layers for full sound proofing.
nail up some old carpet

OK here is what you need to do one layer of old dirty & free carpit over all walls and floor then get some fome the kide they use to reapulster chares and put that on top of the carpit that is on the walls may me $50 tops to do a 1 car gerage.
It works will but you still cant realy jam out too loud + keep all doors and windows shut to stop any unsesasery sound leeks.
go to shops and see if they have foam packaging the stuff they pack tv video washing machine in stick to the wall or else go round the neighbours and pop a cap in their heads but try the first one first
Stick a cork in your tuba!
