How do I transform the old bunk bed?
Question:My teenage son has outgrown his bunk beds. I want to do something with his two twin mattresses (get rid of the bunks) to be comfy and also look cool. Any suggestions? He has a very small bedroom and the bunks are huge and wood. I'd like to do something with just the mattresses.
Answers:
If you have anyone who has some carpentry knowledge you could ask them to build you a box frame to sit on the floor. Put your mattresses on the frame, then make the mattresses up to look like a mini couch with a pillow on each end, and a couple along the wall to lean on. When my sons wanted a change in their room I took the bunks apart, put an end table in the corner and put a bunk on each wall. It looked like a sectional couch and opened up the floor in the room. I built a corner shelf on the corner across from the bed and put a TV on the shelf. They could play their xbox, watch movies or TV, and sit on the beds like a couch.
you should use the wood and make him a loft, that will give him some floor room to use.
