if you go to your HVAC unit and take off the cover.. find out where the wires terminate. probably on a circuit board... they should be labeled on the board itself... may need a flashlight and good eyes... write down the color of the wire and what the terminal screw is labeled as, and match it to the thermostat.like red wire goes to X, then the red wire should go to X on the thermostat.. while you are at the unit visually inspect the board for burns and the glass fuses ... you may have shorted something out. check your breaker/fuse panel.

Don't know what type you have but all the ones I have seen usually have the terminals marked with a R B W R etc. Also see what the instructions say that came with it. Good luck
You forgot the jumper wire in the subbase between Rc and Rh. Thats why the fan doesn't work, along with the A/C.
Thermostats can vary, but this is pretty typical of newer thermos and handlers:
Green is the fan wire and should go to G
Yellow is the wire that turns on the A/C compressor when calling for cooling. (Y or Y1)
White is a call for primary heating, which for you should be gas and should go to W.
Blue would be for secondary heating (for you, electric) and goes to W2.
Red is the power from the transformer and should go to R. Most likely there is an Rc and Rh which are likely jumpered together. Red should go here if there is no single R.
You didn't mention Black. That's the other side of the transformer and usually goes to C
There may be a small fuse on the circuit board...

in the furnace unit
red goes to R if you have an RC on the stat use the red wire to jump from R to RC yellow goes to Y, green goes to G,white goes to W and if you have a blue wire put that on B
