Why do the light bulbs in my livingroom keep failing, it is a newish fixture and we have been rewired?

Question:The rewiring was carried out last november and I thought that this would cure this particular problem, but it has'nt and it seems to be getting worse.

Answers:
Sounds like there is something wrong with wiring, you should have had a certificate part P for the rewiring if you did then get them back out!

It may be to higher voltage supply. This causes over heating of the element. Get in touch with your electric company or better still contact your electrical installer who will have the instrument to check this.
It may be that your fusebox has fuses that have too high an amperage, which means that rather than tripping, any power surge is going through to your light bulbs and the filament is blowing instead.

We have the same problem in our kitchen, and as they are spotlights it is getting quite expensive.
Do you have people living or using the space above the light fixture? (Second Floor) Do they step hard or does the ceiling shake when they walk on it? if it does you might want to look at getting the kind of bulbs made for shop or mechanics lights.. There heavier duty and can handle some bumps or shock..
Have had the same problem. First check that the wattage of the globes is what is recommended as too higher wattage globes will get too hot and cause globes to blow regularly. The most probable anwser is that there is a fault in the light fitting and will need to be replaced. If it is newish it is probably under warranty, so call the store where you purchase it and they will (through the manufacturer) organise an electrician to check it out. Only do this if an electrician installed the fitting and if you have your proof of purchase.
I had the same problem, also the light was going off in all house when the bulb would blow up, so you'd have to go and click the switch in the electric box back on. The electrician cam e and said it's happening because the house is old, and at these times people did not need big electricity supply, and since the flow is more then it was intended for the house - this keeps happening. We called the electric company and they came and did something with the box i think (sorry I am being so vague, I don't know much about electricity, only know trying to describe what happened) to increase electricity flow into the house, and it's all fine now. It all took about 20 minutes. Call your electricity supplier.
What shape/size of bulb?
Reputable brand?
Listed as 230 or 240V?
On a dimmer switch?
How many bulbs in the fitting?
You will have to call in the experts ,they will have all the meters to check ever thing out.
