It is compact enough to move easily, but holds enough air for any DIY tasks. Get a 10" compound slider with laser.. It's big and versatile and will handle any task you may encounter.

When it comes to size of compressors, it depends on if you are using finishing nailers or if you are using roofing or framing nailers. Roofing and framing nailers require a larger compressor. For finish work, Porter and Cable sell packages with nailers, hoses and small compressor included for a great price. For larger compressors, I recommend a Dewalt d55155.
