Depends on what kind of light you get and also where you are, climate-wise. I live in zone 7, and for annuals, I have found that Vinca and Impatiens are amazing. 1/2 of my yard gets full sun, and the other is sun/shade. So I plant vinca in the part that get's full sun, and impatiens in the rest. They bloom all summer long. Great border plants. All sorts of colors. Also, I really like sweet alyssum and pinwheel zinnias. good gardening to you!
Well, I dont knwo why not more people have it but I like sunflowers gating around the front like protecting the house... hmmm... And then I like one tree that has small purple flowers from it and I love it when they drop on the yellow sun flowers. They look nice.
