How hard is it to reconncect sinks?
Question:we're having granite counter tops put in our kitchen and bathroom and it is our responsibility to reconnect the the bath and kitchen plumbing. Is this difficult?Anyone know of a source on line that shows you how to do it? is this something a weekend warrior can tackle?
Answers:
It's easy. I replaced my sink, kept my old counter, faucet & disposal. In your case the most important is not to chip the granite.
If you are using the original sinks, leave everything hooked up to the sink & sit it into the hole. Glue or clamp, what ever it uses. Connect the plumbing back to where it belongs. Connect the water to the pipes, be careful not to tighten the lugs tighter than 1/4 turn past finger tight.
Good luck & have fun.
Most connections outside the wall for both water and drainage are either compression or slip-joint. It is just a case of measuring and cutting the material. Easy DIY job. I included a link for the kitchen sink and you can also find the bathroom plumbing here on the site. Good luck.
