Are there any hazards to staying home while you run the oven's self cleaning?
Question:
Answers:
No, this is simply a burning out the oven, unless you have a huge amount of stuff and are producing significant monoxide, don't worry.
don't inhale
Not unless you're inside it at the time.
not at all .. you should stay home to monitor.
not at all. I do it all the time
No. It just gets very hot and burns off the built up grease.
yes its not a good idea. sometimes it malfunctions.
It's probably better to stay home than to go out - just incase something goes wrong. Maybe just go outside while it's running.
No. My Mom is always afraid it will catch fire. I never does. She won't leave the house while it operates.
Leave your boyfriend chained to it! He'll clean it!! lol
It is not hazardous at all, in fact, you should never leave your oven on unattended.
I would say there are more hazards to leaving the home while that's happening do to possible fire hazards. Besides the smell of burnt pizza droppings, I wouldn't think so.
I would not stay in the kitchen
Also you have to watch any pet's you may have
When cleaning your oven, whether manually or by pushing self-clean, get the birds out of the house or as far away in the house as possible to a well-ventilated area. Do not bring the birds back until the kitchen has been aired out, and the fumes can no longer be detected

No hazards, unless you've been making things in your oven that might be caustic, you'll be fine.
It does heat up the kitchen, so I'd wait until a cooler or cold day, I usually try to do the self cleaning option in the winter, and keep up by wiping my spills as soon as they happen. (And the oven is cool = )
Self cleaning good, Chemical cleaning not so good,
OH MY GOSH YES!!!!!
YOU'LL BURST INTO FLAMES AND START SIGNING "BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE," BY THE TALKING HEADS.
Sorry. just had to do it. No, nothing bad will happen. In fact it is a good idea to stay around to monitor it.
Stay home when you turn on the self-cleaning oven. Turn it on when it is cooler and open the windows.
No there are absolutely no hazards to staying home while the oven is self cleaning. That is with the exception of getting burned if you touch it. Self cleaning ovens, clean by heating the inside of the oven to a very high temperature, about 800 degrees . It just burns all the crud to ashes, no chemicals involved.
