BLACK ANTS!...I re-did my kitchen almost 1 year ago and...?
Question:The rainy season has recently began. Last season, I had problems with sugar ants. This season, I actually have those black "sidewalk" ants in my kitchen and they are everywhere. I go out occasionally and spray around the house and near the windows but every time it rains, they come right back. Last night I took a shower and then went down to get a glass of water. When I went back to my bedroom I felt them crawling up my arm!! They are driving my nuts. I have a power outlet in the kitchen that's full of them and the reset button keeps resetting on that socket. Now I have no power in that outlet at all. How can I kill them without killing my dog or getting her sick?

actually, the funny answer is, ants can't cross chalk. Just draw a line of chalk for chalkboards around the perimeter pf your house and they wont be able to get in. How weird is that?

Most hardware stores sell ant traps that can be put on your counter or behind things so your pets dont get into it. My neighbors have them but I havent got them yet this year. knock on wood.I put a whole box of like 12 out at a time and sprayed.
Sprinkle some cinnamon powder on the effected areas and they can't stand it. It actually repels them.
There are lots of non-toxic solutions like chalk and vinegar. There's also a product called Diatomaceous Earth, which is supposed to be safe for people and pets. Actually, some farmers and other animal caregivers use it to control intestinal worms in livestock and pets. You should be able to get it at a pool or gardening store. Here are some helpful links:
