Melt some butter in a pan. Throw in two swordfish loins. Add some garlic and ginger. Put in about half a finely chopped leak and then pour in a carton of double cream. Simmer for two minutes. Throw in some fresh basil and serve. Rocket salad on the side with a drizzle of olive oil and **** the tiling.
take two and call me in the morning
never start with a full tile on top of the bath.
measure twice, cut once.
I would get a peice of board and practise first, i tried for the first time and it is really easily
One or two things I'd say
Make sure youve got everything you need before you begin
Make sure you put enough adhesive on and use plastic spacers to help you line up the tiles.
Make sure youve got enough tiles to cover the wall and some spare for the ones that will inevitably get broken. Plus it may be wise to keep some spare at the end for if you break some in the future as the shop may have stopped making that pattern or finish of tile.
Dont cut tiles unless youre really sure you need to - if so get a proper tile cutter from a diy store
Make sure you use enough grout
Do an internet search for further guidance - there are plenty of guides available
Take your time and plan your job. Don't rush. Preparation is the key. Good Luck..
In the first instance work out the sq meterage of the area you are to tile, they will work this out for you in the diy shop once you have measured the area and showed them the measurments.
Make sure the wall is sound and dry.
Draw a vertical line close to both cornors, use a level, allowing this area from the line to the cornor to be used for tile cuts.
Using a level and taking into account the size of the tile place the tile on ie top of wk/top--bath side ect. Draw a line right across the wall. Lay a full tile to the bottom line of tiles and work out how many tiles to each cornor, poss tile cuts req'd to wall edge.
Use spacers and continue to lay tiles on top to the required height.Any deveation can be dealt with by using tile cuts, leave to go off for a day.
Use anti fungicidal, water proof tile and grout cement ie Unibond tubs.
When grouting use a comb to spread the cement and I find the use of a finger to infill grout properly.
Finally leave for 10 mins and sponge off excess grout and polish up when dry with a dry cotton rag.
You will need a tile cutter, scribe to mark cuts,level,tiles,cement--grout and tile, and applicator.
You will also need patience.
Best of luck.
Buy a proper tile cutter-- one that is suitable for the thickness of the tiles. Be prepared for the job to take five times longer than you thought it would. Have unlimited patience and realistic expectations. You will probably have to call in a proffessional to put right your mistakes so include the cost in your budget!
first of all i would pin or nail a straght piece of thin would making sure it was level to thw wall to be tiled about a 1/4 to 1/2 a tile up from the bottem and lay ur first eow of tiles and wok upwards from there.
when u have done that take the straight piece of wood off from the bottem and cut and place these tiles on.
i do this as it it very likely that the bottem or base of the floor
or whatever u are tileing over e.g baths are never level.
any thing u dont understand feel free to email me.
oh and one mor tip mark out from the top again starting with less than a full tile down to the bottem this will give u a good idea has to how much till will be left at the bottom.or im me if thers anything u dont understand.
hope this helps
