Toilet keeps filling.?

Question:My toilet keeps filling with water. If I mess with the chain or move the float up or down it keeps filling. If i shut off the water to the toilet it is empty by morning.

Answers:
Sounds like the flapper valve is leaking. That means your tank is constantly draining into the bowl. If that is happening, your float will keep opening the water valve and the water will run. Replace the flapper valve. You can buy those for a few bucks at any hardware store.

the big rubber plug that the chain lifts up the seal is gone.you can try cleaning it or just replace it
You need new "guts" in the tank. Replace them and it will stop.
