How can I inexpensively make a non-tacky headboard for a teenage girl?
Question:My bed is size full.
Answers:
Go to Lowe's with your bed frame measurements. Have them cut a piece of quarter inch plywood the width of you bed and a high as you want it. Next go to walmart and buy a bag of quilt batting, some fabric you like , a box of upholstery tack, duct tap, and a package of heavy duty wall hangers. As you would you to hang a very heavy mirror.Cut the batting to the size of your board . You may want several layers.Use a few pieces of tape to hold it in place.Lay the fabric upside down on the floor. Lay the board on top. Padded side down.Wrap the fabric to the back. Start hammering in the tacks. Pulling the fabric tight as you go. Trim off extra fabric when done. Attach wall hangers and hang on wall.
Cheap particle board, plywood, or osb cut at Lowe's or Home Depot to the size you want. Cover it with some padding and batting, some pretty fabric, staple it and hang it on the wall.

If there is a building salvage place near you, go see what they have for old doors. I got a door that is 2 parts and is half high( Dutch door I think?) I then put them side by side and attached the bed frame to it.
check out yard sales for cheap bed frames Then paint the headboard or have her paint it on the wall
