Showers, explain difference between mixer &thermostat, apart from obvious?

Question:

Answers:
A mixer shower combines hot and cold water to provide the temperature that you decide. If the temperature of the hot water supply changes, or if someone opens a tap in another room, the shower temperature will change. A thermostatic shower tries to compensate for that. There is an automatic system inside it that at least stops the water getting so hot that it will scald you.

a mixer shower is rubbish and runs off bath taps (as far as i know) and thermostat is electric and uses cold water feed and warms it up to the temp you have set it at (i could be wrong but i think thats it)
A mixer shower does exactly that, it mixes the water before it gets to the shower head. A thermostatic shower has a rapid reacting wax capsule inside the control which shuts down the flow of hot water if it senses that it is going to scald..
ELECTRICITY IS NOT USED IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THESE VALVES
