How do you get an ultra-tight phillips head screw out?

Question:It's starting to strip on the head. We even tried an electric screwdriver which only made it worse.

Answers:
You can buy a screw extractor bit at Sears or automotive parts stores. Try the one from Sears first as it doesn't need any drilling. It fits in a standard screw driver bit handle. The mechanics use a bit called "easy out" you drill a small hole in the screw, the bit grabs it and has a reverse twist to tighten the bit as the screw turns out.

go and hire a professional to do it, they can do it with ease and without damage.
Spray with WD40, make sure you have the right size screwdriver, put screwdriver on give a tap then with downward pressure try, if not find a needle nosed vice grip pliers and put it on the head and try that. Remember counter clockwise.
Another way to get it out is to just drill down the center. This will be messy, but if the head is stripped, then this will be the easiest way to remove it.

Just take a drill bit and place it in the center - after you drill, you can remove the head and "tap" the remaining part of the screw into the wall.

Good luck!
