Help installing a new heat.ac thermostat.?

Question:I am installing a new heat/ac thermostat. The one being replaced is very old. The wires are marked C, V, F and H. The new thermostat is a programmable one. By hooking the wires up to the new thermostat the way the instructions shows only my gas furnace heat will work. THe ac does nothing...any ideas?

Answers:
Requires a jumper wire between Rc and Rh terminals.

Make sure you get a tech to do it, I hooked up mine...a lennox part...the heat worked for almost 2 months, when i started using my central AC, boom...burned it. THe V fan was connected wrong.there goes $250. Good luck.
