Can any body tell me how to paint my acoustic guitar?
Question:Ive had my guitar for quite some time,its a dark navy blue with a glossy finish, but over the years its gotten realy ugly,scratch here, a chip there, not to mention the fingerprints from the people who borrow it with out asking, i want to strip it down to bear wood and repaint ,
but i know if i use to heavy of a paint it could throw of the acoustics,and screw up my guitar. There arent any places i cant take it where i live to get painted and money is an issue here. any help would be greatly appricated

There are many ideas, but it depends on whether you want a solid colour, or want the grain to show through. Myself, I have painted electric guitars with light coats of automotive spray paint with really good results.

go to home depot or lows and ask
they will be able to tell you wat paint to use and what finish to put on
