Making a raining oil fountain?

Question:I want to make a raining oil fountain, the kind with the strings and the oil drips down from it to look as though its slowly raining. would i use a normal table top water pump? What are other things I would have to take into consideration with the materials/paint that i would use.

I tried to google raining oil fountain, or oil fountains in general but don't come up with any results, if someone could give me the word to google that would be fine too
