Saving Brushes and Rollers?

Question:So I have two high quality nap rollers and a polyester/nylon brush. I had lent them to a friend who didn't do a very job cleaning them. One roller has dried oil-based primer on it, while the other and the brush have dried water based paint on them. Is there any hope in saving them? I mean there's a significant amount of stuff on these. Any recommendations on cleaners/chemicals to use on them?

Answers:
both are pretty much dunn.sorry for your loss

Soak both in Citristrip overnight and use a brush comb on them and they ought to be just fine.
soak the things use with oil in paint thinner the stuff he used for latex just use water and a wire bruch keep on rinsing them till there no more paint comming out or one the bristles... now the roller take a five(5 in 1) its a tool take the rounded side and scrap the roller clean if you dont have a 5 then just rinse forever but yea you can save them
you can try soaking in mineral spirits..good luck!
I work as a painting contractor, and acetone is probably your best friend for both jobs, it is one of the hottest solvent easily available. Leave the paint brush in a seal-able sandwich bag(acetone evaporates quickly) with the paint brush inside. Fill with acetone until the bristles are completely covered. Wait until the paint brush is softened brush the paint out with a wire brush. Try to leave it in the acetone a minimal amount of time because it can affect the bristles. You can use the acetone also for the rollers..for me I wouldn't bother, it always takes so much time solvent and effort and they never are quite the same. Good paint brushes last years..Good roller covers, a few jobs.
There are paint removers that you can soak them in which will eventually clean them but the cost of those cleaners is is high enough you might want to just dump the rollers and the brush. Buy new ones or ask your friend to just replace them?
I agree dump the roller cover. Put the brush in brush cleaner and you can also buy a brush comb and it will help get the paint out of the bristles.
Tell your butth@le friend that he needs to replace your stuff.
Hint for next time if you are laying up your brushes/rollers for less than a week.wrap them in cellophane and FREEZE.
Works like a charm. Just take out of freezer for 30 mins or so before using. Do it over and over, then wash properly for use in the future.
Friends don't sh!t on friends!
