Should I add red to the room?
Question:My mother and I decided that we'd redo my bedroom now that we're moved. Since I'm sick of guys always making fun of how girly my bedroom is [it's almost always pink and ruffly] I'm redoing it in black and white.
I'm a fourteen-year-old girl, and I'm stuck with the biggest room in the house.
One wall will have black and white pictures & posters on it, and by my closet I'm adding a door poster.
Should I add red to my room for a tiny bit of color?

I would probably add red accessories to the room instead of red paint on the wall. I have a friend who painted her family room red. It took 4 coats. She paints and repaints rooms a lot, and she was shocked by how many coats it took. It was a quality paint brand, too.
My neighbor's daughter, who is a professional photographer, had painted 1 wall in her bedroom black and the others white. On the black wall she had mounted black and white photos. It was quite striking.
i think instead of red you should add blue, because the blue color matches better with the black and white.
Definatly red. It will really pop the black and white colors. When it comes to feng shui, (email me if you want to know more) red is associated with romance, wealth, luck and happiness. I think red would be an amazing color in your room!

I would but not too much as it is a powerful colour and is quite dark if you add too much - I would add it as though it is a thin vein and accesorise with the red - steer clear from the walls though as it really can steal the show and become just as dark as the black, believe it or not.
It is right though regarding the feng shui and I think that in small quanitities it can really look stunning - I used to have a blood red carpet and accessories, with a black and creamy white decor - I couldn't get away with much more red after these as the room was caving in on me...the smaller the room the less red I would add, same for rooms which don't get a lot of natural light - if the room is larger and lighter then the more you can get away with...
Red can be seen as a very male colour but for girls It is a sexy but romantic colour and is also a confident and powerful colour - defo not for the faint hearted..flit around the internet and copy some of the ideas that you see - there are some gorgeous ones out there..
yes. you should include red. it is a nice splash of color. you should not paint your wall black, it is going to go way to dark. try painting your room red and add black and white through out. that way you don't over do the black and white and you can have a little bit lighter wall color. i wanted to do the same thing but i ended up painting one wall a chocolate brown and the rest a beautiful blue. it ended up really beautiful and i added splashes of white and black.
