Hi i would like to put up lights in my stairs or along the wall?
Question:any one got any ideas on this you all have helped me so much i value your advice and what would be the best way to go about this ta to you all ps i have no banister just the stairs and two walls iether side

I took the big, white xmas lights and basically vertically zig-zagged them (with little mini hooks) across my ceiling in the living room. This is our main light! Its awesome!
I suppose the same idea would work for stairs. We did our stairs temporarily with xmas lights and nails around xmas.

i have lights along the stairs, i basically have several long strings that i've drapped along one side on the floor and they make a nice feature. you can't do this if your stairs are very narrow but if they're wider they look really nice. Or, you can put a few nails up and drape the lights along the wall following the line of the stairs.
My brother has Halogen lights set in his stair treads. You would have to get an electrician in to do it for you. you should be able to do the same in the walls if you like.
unless you want to hard wire these lights into the walls by hiring an electrician, you could always use the "rope lights" vinyl encased low wattage lighting and follow the contour of the steps up the staircase..inexpensive and looks quite nice when finished
there are a few ways to go about this sounds like you really need a 3 way set up so you can turn the light off at ether the top of the stair or the bottom this kind would involve ruining wire from the bottom of the stair to the top and back to the light fixture but sense non of this is there you might want to get a electrician as we are experts at fishing wires in tight places. have you thought of rope lighting on both sides of the stairs ?
