I have a short glass cup stuck in the opening of the kitchen sink disposal. What should I do?
Question:The cup is small and fits perfectly in the sink disposal hole. There is no way to grab an edge with tongs or pliers.

Let any water evaporate in the sink and glass (let it sit overnight if you have been using the sink). Get a 3/8" wood dowel rod and heat up a hot glue gun. Put a glob of hot glue on the tip of the rod and push it down against the cup. Give it about 1 minute then gently lift it straight out. The glue should easily pull off the glass cup once it's out. If it is full of water already, do the same thing, only use clear plumbers goop. It will take a lot longer to dry, but it's water proof and will do the job.
Well, if you are sure there is no way to grab it to get it out.maybe you should break it and then use the tongs to get the broken pieces out of the disposal.
FIRST disconnect all electrical source to the disposal.
You can try to remove the unit from underneath the sink and maybe push in an upwards direction to loosen it.
Try putting WD40 around the cup and pull it out.

I have had this happen before...Just take 2 butter knifes one on each side of the glass and pull it out. It may take a few trys but you'll get it.
Pour a little bit of dishwashing liquid along the side of the glass to loosen it up. Then us something you can slide down between the glass and the sink, like a knife. When you pull the knife out kind of angle the bottom towards the glass and pull out slowly. The glass will come out slowly or atleast enough for you to pull the glass out with your hand.

Not much you can do other than. one sharp blow with the handle of a case( butter) knife will knock the bottom out of the cup. Then another blow to the side will let it break into large pieces. Remove the large peices ( carefully of course). Small shards of glass will make a lot of noise, but won't hurt the disposal.
This may sound silly but it might work; if you have any old wax candles melt some wax and put a stick or something in the middle. when the wax hardens you should be able to pull it out.
If it's really stuck, use dishsoap around the outside as others suggested as well. Between the two, you should be ok without having to break the glass.
there is a allen wrenct that fits in the bottom of the disposal losen the disposal with it take out cup make sure disposal is off.
I agree with the wax suggestion. or maybe a toilet plunger?
Dry everything up around the sink so there is not water and if you have a vacuum with a hose you can use it to suck the glass out of there. Done it myself!
