How can I fix a noticeable hole in the front of a dress?
Question:My senior prom is this Saturday and I’m putting the finishing touches on my dress. However, I had a small accident and now I have a two inch hole underneath my Brest in the dress. It’s not through the lining it’s just in the top layer of fabric but I need a quick solution to fixing the hole. So how can I make the hole unnoticeable?
Answers:
If you have extra material at the hem or one of the seams inside, cut out a piece to match the hole. Then careful place it inside the hole with some Stitch Witchery around the edges inside to bound the two pieces together and iron. In the dim light of the prom it won't be noticeable.
If the material won't stand the heat of an iron make tiny stitches to hold in place.

a small accident that resulted in a 2 in hole?
Oh Wow! I would call a seamstress and see if she has any suggestions. Have fun at prom!!
Try "Speed Sew". It is a white glue that is meant to hold the pieces together before you sew it. But that glue sticks so well, that I have not sewn anything together and I can throw it in the wash and it will not unstick. Have numerous patches in my jeans.
Depending on the style of the dress, you could get a wide ribbon and wrap it under the bust. This would work especially well with an empire waist.
