Whirlpool Tub Pump Relocation?

Question:Has anyone ever done this? What are the implications? Void warranty? Adversely affect the performance? I want to place it directly below the tub in the basement. I cannot find any information at American Standard.

HERE'S THE ANSWER:
Absolutely can be done. Absolutely WILL void the warranty. MAY not work. Why? Because the tub is designed to operate with the pump where it is. Placing it somewhere else, especially someplace physically higher or lower than the tub, may cause a problem in maintaining the plumbing in an airless situation... you could become air-bound, in other words. The other issue is it will make the pump work harder.
All that said... if it is going to make your dream bathroom come alive... I say take a shot. The doing is easy and you will be able to tell right away if it works out or not. If not, putting it back together is simple anyway. So why the hell not give it a whack?
