I have an emersion heater boxed in, in my room and it is makeing the room to hot is there any thing i can do?
Question:
Answers:
Firstly, if the water from the hot taps is excessively hot, get the thermostat checked as this is a danger to those using the water and will eventually damage the cylinder causing it to leak (or worse?), by all means add extra insulation, but this could be just hiding the problem...Get it checked by a professional?
I don't understand what your immersion heater is doing. Heating a water bed, aquarium what?
turn it off and get someone in to see if it could be moved my emersion is on my landin on the wall just dont attempt to do it yourself you should have a switch to turn it off i only use mine if i have no gas but consider getting a proffesional in to move it
Open the window.
I would get myself a fan
Stuff the cupboard or box full of Loft insulation if you don't need to use the space surrounding the tank. It should improve the efficiency of the system too.
Steve K is on the right track, There should be an isolator switch in close proximity to the immersion copper tank. Switch it off, and stuff the space with insulation.
i presume you mean your hot water tank as well.
so yes do what the above says and insulate the pipe work as well.
open the lid, fill box with vermiculite, its a granular insulator.
