This is different from the first question because . . . ??

You need a proper trap installed between the shower drain and the main waste stack.

You need a vent to make sure all of the water does not get sucked out of the trap.

In some cases, the waste line from a shower may be able to act as its own vent, if it is close enough to the main stack and large enough.

Yes you have the right idea
Most definitely. Without the water trap, fumes would rise thru the drain, into the shower.
gotta have a p-trap...

You need a trap or your shower will smell like a sewer. Yo may not need to add a vent if it is not a long run from the main stack.
Yes, place a P-trap and then the vent. Otherwise the water will not drain properly and you will get sewer gas entering the room.

As a thought, if you need to ask this you probably should not be attempting this yourself, get a plumber.
