How do i fix hinges on cupboard doors?
Question:Or do I have to get them refaced? What are some costs?
Answers:
okay, first don't get them refaced. Home Depot sells hinges as does Restoration Hardware (more $$$$). You can easily replace the hinges. As for the doors themselves, I am assuming they are wood - strip whatever is on them or sand them down to the wood - once there apply a coat of "Bin" - then buy a gallon of paint and put on one coat - let it dry. Now take steel wool or fine sandpaper and lightly sand this - very very lightly - add another coat - dry it - sand again - the third coat is final. I have cabinets that are from the 1800's with the hinges and this is what I did - worked for me and hopefully for you too :o)....once you start down the road of refacing of the cabinets be prepared to see that the counters, floors and whatever else is in the kitchen needs to go too...
"Fix" them? first you need to tell us what's wrong with them.Better Questions Yield Better Answers
please ask this question again , i dont understand what you need to know , the price to re due them , or if you need to re do them ?
Depends what you mean by fix. If you just mean looks wise, it is probably cheaper to buy new ones.
