Do You get good results with that Copper Pipe Glue (plumbing) sold at Home Depot?
Question:I'd like to try it...any bad stories (the label has all good stories!)

Put it this way: labour is the most expensive part of any job. It should be faster than soldering. If it worked well, all the tradesmen would be using it - and they don't. That stuff might work OK for a while, but I don't think it's been on the market long enough to tell how it does long-term. And a leaking pipe after a few years is still a major headache - and a major expense. After all, it's not just the pipe. You might also have to replace the floor, walls, furniture...you get the idea. And since it's not the recommended way to attach copper pipes, your homeowners insurance will try to stick you with the bill. Insurance doesn't cover things you do that don't conform to current local building codes, and the glue manufacturer is only liable for the cost of the tube of glue - not incidental damage arising from it's use.
Stick to doing it the right way - over the long term, you'll be much better off.

Aussie B is right. If it worked, everyone would do it. The last thing on earth that you need is a joint springing a leak inside of a wall. Learn to solder these things. It's pretty easy. Heat the fitting...not the pipe. heat it until it changes color then put the solder to it from the top of the joint. It'll start going in and then you'll see it go all the way around the join. Go around the join if it looks like it's not going all the way around. That's it. Practice with some shot pieces of pipe and some fittings. You'll get it, i promise. Just don't let any water get to the fitting your soldering. ANY water will keep the joint from sealing.even if it LOOKS good.
