Refitting radiators?

Question:Turned of the valves un screwed the radiators decorated the walls. Now I want to refit the radiators, Do I need to use any tape or sealant ?

Answers:
A little PTFE tape wouldn't go amiss on the threads of the radiator valves.

yeah cellotape!
A bit of ptf tape around the threads helps. make sure you wind it on clockwise.
Is this the cone joint from rad. tail to valve? Ensure both halves are clean and dry( I use a kitchen scourer) Then a spot of LSX silicone (plumbing sealant). Be aware that this joint will get hot, therefore expand, so always good to recheck joints when hot.
In theory these should be water tight. PTFE usually ensures it though.
