good luck, its hard work.
Go to cement homemart and buy mixed concrete.
Purchase either 40# or 80# ready mix at your home imp. store, all you do is add water, an 80# bag will take 1 gallon of water. On the bags it will tell you how much coverage you will get
Go to Home Depot...Buy the concrete tiles and lay your path.very easy.
Be sure to place a plastic barrier down to lay the tiles on .It will prevent grass from growing in the cracks.
Good Luck
You first need to prep the vase. Make a level surface in the dirt. Frame the area you wish to pur with 2X4's, anything wider iwould be overkill for a walkway. Make sure you stake down the form from the outside; with the stakes going below the top of the boards. Pour down some gravel. Usually 3/4 inch will do but you want to pack it soak it and pack it again until it is a relatively solid surface. Ideally this should be as solid as possible. Then lay down re-bar. Put briges under the rebar to raise it off the gravel. Mix the concrete in a wheel barrow or rent a mixer. If it is a really long walkway you may consider buying the concrete and having it poured from a truck. Screen the concrete to level it. Float the concrete (large trowel that will bring the liquid to the surface. Trowel by hand for finishing touches. Use a large push broom to across the walkway to add texture to the walkway providing a non slip surface.
mix in wheelbarrow, 3 gravel, 2 sand , 1 cement, by volume, add water, mix and dump. repeat many ,many, times until you are done
Just go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy some sack concrete in a bag.
Don't fool with trying to make up your own. It is far less costly, especially as it relates to your time, to simply buy the pre-mixed concrete at Home Depot or Lowe's. Hardware stores also carry it and so does Sears. I use it all the time and make different shaped forms to get unique paths. You can also dye the concrete to get different colors, and you will have some great looking walk ways.
