Will ceiling fans increase the value of my home?
Question:I am thinking of installing one in each of my three bedrooms, My home is amout 80 years old.
Answers:
Minimally, but will not recover the cost of the fans themselves.
i think that ceiling fans will help with the price but at the same time it makes the homes more jazzier
All increases in value of a home depend on the buyer. While ceiling fans bring about a comfort feature they don't do much for ambiance. First decide if you are updating your fixture for personal reasons or just monetary. If you will be living in the home for awhile you might like to make use of the ceiling fans - go for it - it's not permanent. Just make sure to purchase a high quality fan as the lower end models make more noise and sway much more. I highly recommend Harbor Breeze fans found at Lowe's. I have installed 4 of these in my home. A side note. refrain from ceiling fans in the kitchen/dining areas as they get 'globbed' up with cooking greese and dirt.
Ceiling fans might entice a prospective buyer with yet another little perk, however, it really won't increase the value of the home by much at all because they're not all that expensive of an item. Whereas a pool, a new roof or new carpeting would do more to increase the value. Good luck selling it!
It increases the resale value of your home because it lowers the electric bill. And a ceiling fan pays for itself in time, so it's a very good investment.
I can't see why they'd increase the value but they will likely increase the appeal, which may mean a quicker sale. Ceiling fans are so common in homes nowadays that not having them may be a detractant compared to a home that has them installed already.
Definitely go for it. I think it would be worth the cost to you to make the home more pleasing to potential buyers. A decent fan can be purchased for a reasonable price.
If your home doesn't have air conditioning, it will certainly increase the appeal and the ability to sell your house. For 3 bedrooms, you'r enot looking at much more than $300, so I'm sure you could recoup the money, but for such a small investment, does it really matter? You'll be more comfortable sleeping, and that's worth the investment, in my opinion.
