Red stain on my white house!??

Question:While staining my deck, red over spray got on my white house.
The house has older aluminum siding.
Does anyone know how to get that off?

Answers:
First of all, read the label on the can of deck stain to determine whether it is oil or water base. If the stain is water based you can generally wash the area with warm soap and water, let it soak first, then rinse. If the stain is oil based, you need to clean it with mineral spirits on a rag. In both cases try not to scrub too hard or the paint on the aluminum siding will be worn away. You can paint worn aluminum siding by first washing with a recommend cleaner, then painting with a good quality latex paint. You will be pleasantly surprised how well the siding looks after you paint it.

If the aluminum siding is unpainted and just white aluminum siding, you can try some paint thinner.. Try a test spot area first and work it in a circular motion (use an old rag for this not any synthetic sponges) It should loosen up and wipe away.. Good luck.
