Question:ok, i am such a creative person, but i cant find anything to do with my bedroom!

My bedroom has been tan for 7 years and finally I decided to change to a gold, that was to bright so I antiqued the walls to make it look like marble,(used a dark brown glaze patted on with cloth) that worked, then I put up drapes to match the basic color of the walls, topped my bed with a tomato rust and bottomed that with a brown! Sounds awful when you speak it but it is the most smashing bedroom I have ever had. Now, tomato rust would work with the beige along with white for a popper, you need a color to wake up the beige. Okay. My living room is done in deep reds, olive greens, and browns. Tannish color walls. I have camel colored sofa and loveseat, bought deep red throws and red, brown, and olive striped area rug. I also have brown accent pillows. I kept the wall decor to minimum and used a big mirror with an oak frame on one wall, and hung some family photos with oak frames on another wall. Hard to envision, but looks great. I use deep red candles in an apple cinnamon scent.You could find a great comforter set in those colors. I also did my bathroom in sage green with a bright white trim and white shower curtain. I accented with striped towels white, blue, and sage stripes. I changed out the towel and toilet paper rack for brushed nickel. I think these colors make my home warm and inviting.

get some house and home magazines, watch HGTV and get a feel for what you like. when you get a mag. tear out the pages of rooms you like and keep them in a folder. you will see what your taste is and go from there. don't be in to much of a hurry when your doing a home it can get expensive so make sure you are going to like it for a while, especially on larger items.

light tan? almost any color goes with that i think. but personally i would stay clear of white, yellow, orange, olive - they're too similar
