Are wooden floors safe? Is it possible that it will break by termites?
Question:I'm thinking of remodeling my room to a wooden floor cause there's always bugs in my room and I think it's cause of the carpet! Also I don't vacuum under my bed often so Lord knows whats in there!
Answers:
there is a possibility that there may be some damage from temites. it is unlikely unless they are already in the house. then get it fumigated. someone said it depends on the type of wood. that is true. some woods deter temites other attrack them. not sure which do.
yes they will be broken by termites
that happened to me...Ah! right now
you should get a tiled floor
it might not be the carpet(for what will they do with that... i dunno)
and buy a vacuum cleaner
Wooden floors are likely to be weakened by termites. But it depends on the type of wood.
The wood should have been treated, just to be on the safe side, call the pest control people and get them to have a good look before spraying.
first I'd be curious if you have ocd since you sound too worried about nothing. If you're concerned then have a professional pest control company come in and check out if the house has or has had termites and if so they can spray or tent your home and get rid of those. If you have bugs in your room then you can use a fogger (be sure to follow the directions exactly so you don't asphixiate you and your family.
Then remodel your room, put your wood floor down, change out the carpet and backing, or do whatever you want. Installing wood flooring is a big job so I'd suggest that you just have the rug changed out. Learn to vacuum
yes Wooden floors are safe. You have them treated once a year. as for the bugs in your room You need to clean your room. but before you even think of change floors rearrange your room and clean it like you are moving --I bet there is old food stuff stick under your bed cause the bugs.
any type of interior wood is not safe with termites. if you got bugs in your room you have to find the source and treat with the proper products. If your carpet is still in good condition it's worth having it steamed cleaned or removed it and tile your floor.
Carpet do not attract bugs!.food residue, high humidity, water leaks will attract some. Termites usually swarmed in Spring you can find their transparent wings allover a window sill or on the baseboard of your floor. If this is the case you need your whole house to be fumigated by a specialist.
